Review: The movie mechanic is a remake of earlier version of same movie in 1972. The movie is a hard core action genre oriented remake. The star actor cast of Jason Statham and Donald Sutherland make a good performance in this remake. The fumble over either of the performance and storyline is effectively negated by a successful combination. It is short of what may be called a guy movie since it is full with action scenes and imagery of all action oriented cinema. The justice done to the action is not short of the cast and its performance as well. At the same time the branding has obtained more than required from the genre and star cast. The positioning is easily done with much lesser effort. While on the same side movie critics argue that the movie allows for a brand extension and remake positioning better. The action scenes do not particularly follow a certain sequence or style where the camera is shaky on the end. It remains to be seen if the same is true for the movie.
